first of all, my sincere thanks to uozlulu for making me think about this. i’ve watched the episode for like 3 times already, yeah making gifs forces you to watch it a couple of more times than usual, anyway. So i had a bit of thinking about this episode.

here… The Doctor says “Goodness had nothing to do with it." It hasn’t stroke Clara yet, but The Doctor is fully aware of a fact: (quoting from Steven Moffat) “In his darker hours, he would always comfort himself with the old idea that he makes people better. In this episode, he is forced to conclude that maybe he is making Clara all worse." Not the biggest fan of this Moffat dude but he seems to be right. Doctor had a chance to take a look at himself from the outside through Clara, and he actually saw how she’s able to lie to people, she didn’t care that much of the people who died or just about to die, as he’s been doing throughout the season. He saw how Clara goes like when she has to act like him, and she was doing it quite well and like as if it was in her nature. he’s seen her being ruthless and careless this much. he saw the "darkness". And i think he thinks that yes, he might be like "big old dark Doctor" but he also thinks that it’s not what he’s supposed to be. He basically hates that so hates himself too. (He hates The Architect) Clara even lied to him in the very last scene when Danny was calling her. Clara lied to him when she said "Danny was OK with being back on board the TARDIS."… He understood that Clara is now addicted to him and this time travel/save the worlds thingy, she even ‘lies’ to people just to be able to be on board. that’s making her a worse person than she used to be. This is not his Clara, he’s turning Clara into a bad person, in his opinion.

and also there’s this Missy woman. Who just sent us all “WTF IS GOING ON” moment with her line “Clara, MY Clara… I HAVE chosen well." Whatever this woman is planning, Clara is a big part of it. Maybe the biggest part. So in the season finale, The Doctor will have to choose. "An impossible choice"… He’ll have to choose between, taking Clara with him and watch her becoming a worse person than she used to be and being a part of his enemies’ big ol’ plans to destroy him, AND, leaving her for good just to let her have a normal life that she deserves. Of course he won’t pull a "Donna" on her, but it’s gonna hurt so much. and i dont think he’ll be able to ‘pick’ someone as his ‘companion’ so easily after all of these. and we all know what happens when The Doctor travels alone… even darker times are waiting for us, i assume…

to me, van gogh is the finest painter of them all. certainly the most popular great painter of all time. the most beloved. his command of color, the most magnificent. he transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. pain is easy to portray but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world. no one had ever done it before, perhaps no one ever will again. to my mind, that strange wild man who roamed the fields of provence, was not only the world’s greatest artist but also one of the greatest men who ever lived.
